Day 2 - Part 3 - Fly and think hard - Touch Korea Tour

Location : Jeju Island - Daheeyeon Green Tea garden

Our first destination in Jeju was the green tea field with our first mission of the day waiting for us. And I have to say…that’s an awesome mission we had! When we arrived there, we saw so many things. At first, you can only see this green which spread over the whole place. This green is more beautiful than grass or corn or anything, that’s green tea leaves. I never saw this anywhere. Then, out of nowhere, a sign say “Dogland”. I could barely hear dogs barking, I guess they were really tired because there was really a LOT of dog kennel.

And then… I saw a man flying in the air. WHAT? Zipline, baby. I must say I really looked forward to this. Despite my fear for tree climbing, I really like zipline. I don’t know why… what a strange girl I am! The boy on the zipline was riding upside down, out of fear. I was amazed. Because I know Ricky love challenges, I told him he had to ride like this during the mission. I thought that anyway, he wouldn’t be in my team, and that would be distracting him from the mission, whatever it would be. But oh lord how I was wrong to say this…

Before the mission, there was a café we had to go. It was a cave café… something really original where we can drink cold green tea. Yummy!
There was some time left for us before going there (the crew was setting cameras and all…) so we talked a little. Then the owner of the place (I guess he owned this place…) told to Rachel in Korean that there were some puppies not too far from here (in the “dogland” place). I got so excited, I wanted to see the puppies *_* So I turned to Laney and asked “Can we go too?” (Rachel was already running to the puppies -_-‘).

Laney was shocked. For a moment, I didn’t know why and then she said “You understood what he said?” Of course I understood Laney, didn’t I tell you I could speak Korean a little? You should know that! Michelle, Dondré and I could understand Korean really well. She was even more shocked to learn this. She became a little upset and said “What am I here for then? You guys can understand pretty well? I don’t have to translate!” *joking*
Ok Laney, that’s not right, we need you, we don’t understand everything and you have been pretty useful these days. Even if I can understand the overall context of what it’s said, I don’t understand everything. That’s why I was always glad Laney was here :D

Meanwhile… Erry, Ricky, Amelie and Tim were playing in front of another café. Ok maybe Tim wasn’t here… why is always Tim missing? We were always searching for him. It seems like he went on expeditions all alone -_-‘ Anyway we played a little longer and Ricky took the camera in order to let the photographer try the game. How can you look handsome even taking pictures? Do you want to see my face when I take a picture? Oh no… you don’t wanna see it…

Like a man...

We went into the cave and drank our green tea. That was really good. Hey! Look at that! I’m not beside or in front of Ricky! That’s the first time! What happened to me? :P (I swear I didn’t do it on purpose, the “I’m-always-next-to-Ricky” thing). Erry gave us a good laugh there. When we said that the air was really fresh in the cave, she seriously answered “That’s because there is air conditioner there, can’t you see it?”. Haha she was right! And then we talked about the roof, she said “That’s a fake roof, look at the corner” She was right again… oh my god Erry, why can you see those things better than us? Is it because you’re a mom?

Try to find us ~

On est allé dans la cave et on a bu notre thé vert. C’était super bon. Hey!

We took a few pictures together in the cave, and I really like this picture, I don’t know why… I guess the lightening makes me pretty hehehe.
Must be the lightening...

After finishing our cup of green tea, we got out of the café and the gong rang. MISSION TIME! We ran to the mission man and he explained to us the mission. “You will be in teams of two. There are 4 courses of zipline, you have to ride the four, and there are words on the ground. The team that memorize the more words win” Ok let’s do it. To make the team, we had to draw spoons again with a number and a color.
MISSION TIME !

Erry ended with Dondré, Michelle with Tim, and me with Ricky… What was I saying earlier? I shouldn’t have said to him to ride upside down the zipline, he’s in my team! What should I do now? *desperate* Anyway I was really happy because when he saw we were a team he said “Yes, I’m with the French girl”. I don’t know why, but calling me French girl make me happy, maybe because people think of France as a beautiful country, so I felt important. That’s like the time when Michelle told me she was glad to have a French friend. *so happy*

I can’t remember our team name… I only remember we had the number one so we did something like “eleven” showing our number one spoons side by side *owww so cheesy* ^^ We dressed properly to ride the zipline. They wanted me again to put on the helmet with the camera but something was wrong again with it, so they put in on Michelle’s head in the end. Erry was as usual really scared but Dondré was comforting her. What a wonderful teammate!

Checking if everything's okay :)

We went up to prepare for zipline. Luckily, there was one boy and one girl in each team so the boys of each team had to go first and then the girls would go. Our team was the first to go. When Ricky was preparing to jump, I thought I had to cheer him up so that we could win the mission. I shouted “리키오빠 화이팅” which means “Ricky Oppa, let’s do it”. Men in Korea really like to be called Oppa, I already told you this. That’s why after hearing this he smiled at me, said “Wah I really like this, feels good” and jumped in the emptiness. *tragic* hehehe.

During your jump, you have to be really aware of what’s on the ground, because you have to see the words, but you also have to remember the ten words at the end of the zipline. *Oh my memory…* Ricky did the upside down thing and that looked so cool! Dondré and Tim were gone a few minutes later and my turn was already here. I was really excited, I wanted to win, I wanted to try the upside down thing. When the zipline guy told me to go I was quite scared “Now? Go right now? Ok… let’s go” and I jumped. The air was really fresh and I felt comfortable on the zipline… so I did the upside down thing! That was awesome!!!!
Tim.. fix your expression please :P

But I had to concentrate on the mission anyway… so I started to get serious again and tried to gather all my attention. That’s why on the picture of me riding the zipline, I look scared. I had just a lot of focus at that moment :P There were three words on the first course, three on the second, zero on the third (why???) and two on the last. Where are the two other? I really didn’t see it… I can still remember a few words like “volcano”,“horse”,“unesco”,“hallabong”,“baekroksan”,“ollegil”. I remember actually quite a lot right? Every word was related to the island and about what we could find on the island.
Have... to... focus... !

At the third course, the zipline guy told me to jump when I was still standing up. Actually for it to be less scary you have to be sitting in your harness right? I thought he was joking… but no. I didn’t want to be a coward, so I jumped. It was so scary but so fun! At the end of the zipline, I met Ricky, Dondré and Tim who had already finished and were waiting for the girls. I was so excited I told them it was so fun :D

Not to waste a second, we gathered with Ricky and tried to remember the words. I actually remembered 8 words (the 8 words I saw) but Ricky only remember 6 words, and it was the same as mine, and he got one word wrong among the 6 he remembered… ahhh *sigh*. Told me he was having so much fun that he had a hard time focusing on the mission… *double sigh*
We went near the “answer location” to wait for the last team. We tried to make a strategy. When we will go answer, Ricky will say a wrong word out loud, for the other teams to hear, and I will act upset, like “Why are you saying it so loud, they are going to hear it!”. Like this, the other team will say wrong words and WE WILL WIN HAHAHAHAHA *evil laugh* With this strategy set up, we went to officially answer. We were supposed to whisper to the camera while holding a sign “answer”. We did our strategy thing and gave our 8 responses. We went back to our sit to try to guess the last two words.  I was trying to eavesdrop the Dondré-Erry team but all the words I heard were those we already said.
Happy about our strategy hehehe

In the end we couldn’t find anything more and we just prayed for us to win. All the teams gathered to find out who the winner was. Other teams all said they couldn’t find more than 8 words so I thought it would be a tie… but no. Michelle and Tim were last with a total of 6 words. They got 2 words wrong… what were you two doing on the zipline? And… Ricky and I WON! Yay! My second Mapae!
The "answer" sign & Laney

Ouiiii ! Mon second Mapae!

We got all our 8 words right and Erry and Dondré got 7 words right. Thanks to me, Ricky had his first mapae. You’re thankful to me right? Right? I’m the best teammate :P Don’t go to other team, just come in the French girl’s team hehehe!! I think I should try Dream Team someday … *full of pride*

We did a dance celebration, the “mapae dance” and we were interviewed on how we lived our second mission and what I felt about winning for the second time. I was actually ahead of everyone with two mapaes. Everyone has one, I have two :D Everyone was happy for me.

Wow… Day 2 is pretty long… I will have to write about the after-zipline in another post ^^ Till then, please leave a lot of comments for me to know how you feel about this blog (because I can’t know if you don’t say it to me). Tell me what I should add, or what I shouldn’t do in this blog. Love you ~
Wow… Love you ~

  2. Tiph,
Yes, I do have an observational skill since I am a mom. It called mom's power...hahaha...
And I remember when I tried that game, I asked Ricky seriously,
'If I win this, can I get a mapae? Please? Why do I have to do this for no mapae?'
Hahaha... the mapae thing was poisoning me!

  3. But after teaming with me, Ricky said I'm the best and smartest teammate, hahaha!

Probably Tim and I enjoyed zipline too much, you know, my zipline team's motto- "it doesn't matter~". LOL!
